About This Product

This study is an examination of state-level data on adolescent pregnancy and related variables. Birthrates, pregnancy rates, and abortion rates are the outcome variables of particular interest. Under investigation are relations between these rates and variables measuring social factors and policy measures. Social factors include population growth and residential mobility, school dropout rates, crime rate, teenage suicide rate, circulation of sexually explicit magazines, voting behavior, and stress level. Policy measures include state spending on education, teacher-student ratio, welfare payments, sex education, availability of Medicaid funds for abortion, and accessibility of abortion providers.
