Project Toward No Drug Abuse (TND) is a highly interactive program
designed to help high school youth (14 to 19 years old) resist
substance use. The program provides detailed information about the
social and health consequences of drug use and addresses topics
including instruction in active listening, effective communication,
self-control, and stress management. The program enhances
self-confidence, counteracts myths and stereotypes of change norms, and
aids decision-making and public commitment about drug use.
Project TND is delivered in 12 classroom-based sessions, approximately
40-50 minutes each. These are designed to be implemented over a
four-week period. The program may also be of interest to clinicians and
researchers within and outside of the classroom setting, namely in
clinics.
