How to begin an online order

All online orders begin with a product abstract page. After finding the abstract page of the product you want to order, click on one of the two buttons at the bottom the page. To order a product to be shipped to you via UPS ground, click on the button "View/Order products for SHIPPING". To order a product for immediate download to your computer, click on the button "View/Order, products for DOWNLOAD". You will see a list of available products in the product group you selected. Enter the quantity you would like and click the order button. The product will be placed into your shopping cart. Please note that you must have cookies and JavaScript enabled to successfully complete an order.

Download vs. shipping invoices

All products ordered on a single invoice must use the same delivery method (either "shipping" or "download") and be billed to a single source. To order additional products using an alternate delivery method or different billing information, you must complete separate invoices.

How to cancel an order

There are a number of ways to cancel an order during the ordering process.

  • on the Product Review and Order review pages you may click the "remove" button for any item you wish to discard from your invoice.
  • simply stop moving forward through the order process at any time before the credit card information is entered.

You may cancel an order at any time during the ordering process BEFORE payment has been made. You will not be charged for any order until payment has been entered, and you click the "SUBMIT TRANSACTION" button on the Credit Card Processing Screen. If you choose to cancel your order before clicking submit transaction, you will receive an e-mail confirming your product selections. You will not be billed for the products or receive a confirmation receipt unless you click on SUBMIT TRANSACTION and complete the payment process.

Secure vs. insecure server

Most current web browsers support encryption to protect personal information sent over the internet. We recommend using a payment method other than your credit card if your browser does not support encryption. If your browser supports encryption, you will be moved to the secure server upon clicking the final Continue button.

Mainframe tape specs

If you placed an order for a Mainframe Tape, you may select your tape format specifications. The default specifications shown are common to many systems. If you are not sure of your system needs, please contact your local system administrator.

Downloading problems

Each product ordered must be downloaded separately by clicking on its file name. If a disruption results in an incomplete downloaded file, please try to download the file again by clicking on its file name. If download problems persist, please contact Sociometrics at 650-949-3282 or email socio@socio.com. We will arrange an alternate method of file delivery. If you have ordered a PDF document and want to save it to your computer, right click on the file name to initiate the download.

Order confirmation number

Please keep your order confirmation number for use when calling about your order. Your order confirmation number appears on the email confirmation sent to you (if you supplied a valid email address in the "customer information" section). Please retain your order confirmation email for your records until you have received your product.

Our shopping cart system will support I.E. 5+, Netscape 4+, and Mozilla. At this time we do not support Opera. If you are using Opera or another unsupported browser please call 1-800-846-3475 to place your order by phone.
