What can I do if the search and retrieval software for data archive products will not install from a CD-ROM?

For most PC/Windows users, the search and retrieval (KAware) software for data archive products will install normally if you open a DOS window, change directories to the CD-ROM drive, and then type INSTALL <enter>. If this does not work, exit the DOS window, go to the Windows 95/98 START icon, select SHUT DOWN, and select RESTART THE COMPUTER IN MS-DOS MODE. The PC will present a DOS prompt at which you can change directories to the CD-ROM drive, and then type INSTALL <enter>. Make sure that the CD-ROM containing the search and retrieval software is in the CD-ROM drive. When you are done using the search and retrieval software in DOS mode, type EXIT <enter> at the DOS prompt to restart Windows 95/98.
