1970-2003 State and City Data on Adolescent Fertility

The 1970-2003 State and City Data Files on Adolescent Fertility is a compilation of secondary data on adolescent and young women's fertility in the United States. Data are provided in two separate Data Sets. The State Data File, Data Set S7, provides data on births, non-marital births, repeat births, birth rates, low birth weight, abortions, and sexual activity for the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Birth rate data span the years 1970 to 2003. Data Set S7 contains 27 variables; data on birth numbers per state are grouped by age and ethnicity. The City Data File, Data Set S8, provides statistics for 165 large U.S. cities for 2003. Data Set S8 includes 14 variables with data on births, non-marital births, and repeat births. Number of births are grouped by age and ethnicity.
