1976-1987 National Survey of Children: Waves 1,
2, and 3
Investigators:
A 3-wave longitudinal study was carried out by Child Trends, Inc., querying a national sample of children and their parents on such topics as physical, social, and psychological well-being; education, work, marital, and child-bearing patterns; and dating, delinquent, sexual, and contraceptive behavior. Further, for the first two waves, a teacher from the child's school answered questions on the child's academic performance and atmosphere. A total of 4,118 variables provide data on 1,423 children aged 7-11 in Wave 1 (1976). Wave 2 was conducted in 1981, Wave 3 in 1987.
