This data file includes macro-level data from the 50 states on 55 variables including: Percentages of households receiving aid of some sort, crimes committed by gender, political offices held by race, and marital status by age. Data were compiled from several public and private surveys and publications.

Note for users of DAAPPP Data Sets #01-B1
DAAPPP data sets 01 through B1 are comprised of a User's Guide, SPSS syntax files (*.SPS or *.SPX) and raw data files only. Most of these datasets contain SPSS syntax files that use Job Control Language (JCL) from 1980s versions of SPSS-X. Because the syntax is old, the syntax files require editing to conform to the current syntax standards used by SPSS/Windows or SPSS/Unix.
