1972-74 Ventura County Survey of Unmarried Pregnant
Women Aged 13-20: Six-Month Follow-up
Investigators:
This Data Set addresses two major gaps in the adolescent pregnancy literature. First, it focuses on unwed teenagers with unintended pregnancies; second, it measures decision satisfaction after the actual abortion or delivery. The Data Set extends an earlier investigation (DAAPPP Data Set No. 31) to the period six months after abortion or delivery. Data were collected from 333 never previously pregnant young unmarried women who utilized the services of the Ventura County Public Health Clinic between 1972 and 1974. This file includes data on post-decision satisfaction, current financial support, school enrollment, employment history, contraceptive attitudes and usage, and relationship with the man responsible for the pregnancy.
Note for users of DAAPPP Data Sets #01-B1
DAAPPP data sets 01 through B1 are comprised of a User's
Guide, SPSS syntax files (*.SPS or *.SPX) and raw data files only. Most of
these datasets contain SPSS syntax files that use Job Control Language (JCL)
from 1980s versions of SPSS-X. Because the syntax is old, the syntax files
require editing to conform to the current syntax standards used by SPSS/Windows
or SPSS/Unix. If you require technical assistance in using or editing these
syntax files, please contact Sociometrics' Data Support Group at 800.846.3475
or socio@socio.com.
